At first I wasn’t sure where this story was taking me but soon I was drawn in. Emma was on the run from a violent relationship. Unsure of where to turn she finally finds sanctuary in a village- and so the nightmare begins.
When Angels Fear reminded me of the Wickerman 1973 film – inspired by David Pinner’s 1967 novel Ritual.
The plot line of When Angels Fear – is well-crafted, with some violent and sexual assault scenes. The characters well-drawn and the dialogue natural. I look forward to reading more books by PJ Mordant.
