When Angels Fear

Book One of the Flammark series

A woman escapes from a terrifying past only to find the village she runs to has problems of its own.

Exhausted, desperately seeking sanctuary, Emma arrives at the pretty English village of Flammark. But she cannot rest. A strange sleeping sickness stalks the village and a young woman has disappeared.

Why won’t the police investigate?

As events unfold, Emma becomes embattled yet again, compelled to fight for her life against a deadly curse linked to a past about which she had no knowledge. She is the only one able to vanquish the evil, but doing so will entail confronting an horrific and all-too-familiar enemy. The question is … will she be strong enough?

ANIMUS

Book Two of the Flammark Series

It’s midsummer. Months after Emma vanquished the Blackstone curse, she still hasn’t decided where her future lies …

… or whether she wants Westen to be part of it.

And what about the earth tremor that came from Seely Tor?

Something is not right in the under-Flammark, something that’s about to arrive which is far deadlier than the spirit she and her friends battled last year.

And one of them has changed …

The Witch and the Faithless

Book Three of the Flammark Series

While the police are on the hunt for a serial killer, Emma and her friends discover a witch is on the loose. It seems highly unlikely the two developments are unconnected.

They are at a loss to understand why the witch has come to plague the village and, worse, how to get rid of it – though all the signs point to a Blackstone influence. If only Will would come back to help them! But there seems little chance of that.

And of course, the very last thing they can do is tell Westen…

THE LAST SENTINEL

The final adventure…

It’s been six months since the witch devastated the village and the friends have barely recovered! But they’ll need to get themselves together soon for a mysterious find has set Flammark’s weirdness in motion yet again. Emma and Will are certain something is coming and its shaping up to be their biggest and wildest confrontation yet! But they have a massive problem …

…one of them isn’t very well.

As if that wasn’t enough, over in Sandmarsh, the cops have their own problems. A vicious attacker is on the loose. Victims are dropping fast—including one of their own— and after last year’s death-in-custody, Westen is no longer in post!

But … a new character has arrived. Darius Thorne, a Tarot savant. Maybe he can tell us what the hell is on the cards for Flammark this time.

And who knows, he may even help reveal the nature of Emma’s true power…

Life eh?

As if I’m not behind enough in getting my fourth in series out, I’ve had to take even more time off to get over a bout of raging flu! Interesting, though. As it completely knocked me out – another blow for my ailing concentration span – all I could conceivably face on eventually leaving my…

Life and Death and Writing

It’s been a while since you’ve heard anything from my end. I would apologise for my absence had it not been for the fact that both personally and creatively, it’s been one helluva year.   After my hubby passed, it took months before I could get beyond looking sideways at my computer to open the…

The Watchers: A. M. Shine

A lot of people seem not to have liked this because of a seeming lack of action and some verbosity. Interestingly, those are the exact reasons why I enjoyed it so much. So many modern horror novels rely on the quick horror-fixes, gory set-ups, overused and cliched tropes. I’m rarely tempted beyond the ‘read inside’…
